You really need to STOP with the condemnation that you are putting upon yourself.
If your Wife/ Husband, chose to love honor and obey God when she/ he took those vows. Yes the vows are commitments we make to each other, but it is also a vow we make unto the Lord.
You may have failed, but she/ he did as well by leaving. Marriage is a hard job and requires change from both people and quite frankly is hard work because it is a never ending job.
It is easy for anyone to walk away, but hard work to fulfill the commitment to stay and work it out with the understanding that we are all created different.
Life is a journey and we all walk sometimes down different paths, but in each circumstance the Lord always equips us for the battle, this is why He gave us the Armour in Ephesians 6, wear it daily.
You can say the same about your Wife/ Husband like, "Where is her/ his unconditional love? Understanding? Or the willingness to learn to cohabitate with someone she/ he made a committment to?
Do not live under that condemnation because when you do that you are giving Satan power and allowing him to steal yours as well as your joy.
We all endure many tests and trials, but it strengthens us in Christ and empowers us to continue.
The devil can not take you down unless you allow him to bring you there, so stop fueling him with the means to do so.
Speak out God's promises to you and believe them, Jesus told us several times,"Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from God's mouth!" What you speak also has an effect, so do not speak words outloud of negativity, but of praise for God, His promises, ect. for YOUR words count and affect the heavenly realm.
You are not weak, for the Lord is your strength and HE that is in you is GREATER than he that is in the world. You have power Michael, God gave it to you when Jesus died and rose from the dead.
If your present Wife/ Husband follow through with a divorce and in the future you decide you want to have another relationship, please for your sake, do not be anxious for nothing. (The Lord tell us this. I am the Lord your God, do not be anxious, afraid, or worry.)
Allow Him to give you His wisdom in moments like this, I see too many folks be hasty about issues myself included which turned out diseasterous and God has to sweep up our messes like the story of the women who swept her home looking for the coin.
Everyday people in many cases do not realize that their everyday job is their ministry.
Jesus saves our souls, forgives us for our tresspasses as we live in this fallen world knowing that we have to also make it.
This is why Abraham was soo important that he repeated the story in the N.T.
Abraham told a few white lies about his wife Sarah, Paul lied in several instance. For example: Is is lawful for a Roman to beat a brother? Well it is a half lie, Paul/Saul was Jewish but born in Rome, meaning he had citizenship, so come, l wake up you spirit and know who you are in Christ.
We are every day sinners that are saved by our faith and belief in Jesus and what He did at the cross. God does not pour out his wrath upon us, because like the O.T. the blood of the Lamb God passed over us.
We may be fallen, yet we still have life! In the O.T. had a person fallen they would die. The O.T. shows how fallen man really is, but Praise God for his grace through Christ that we now live, so start living.
Do not allow this circumstance put you in the pit. I understand in the valley we grow, but please do not stay there but allow the peace of God to fill your heart with joy and the adventure He has planned for your life.
Do not be prideful but in all humility wait on God.
Thank you for sharing Colleen ~<3~
God Bless you all and keep your head up!!
